Old Fashioned History The Old Fashioned is said to have been first created at the Pendennis Club, a famous gentlemen’s club in Louisville, Kentucky in 1881 in honour of Colonel James E. Pepper – famed bourbon distiller, who then introduced it to New York high society during his frequent visits to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel bar in New York.
